What Do We Not Know
♥ Thursday, October 11, 2007 10:58

When we say taking a rest or break now is all for being able to do more in the future, I agree with both hands up. Then can I enjoy my break now? I am in need of time from the office.

Also when we say we will feel better after crying, I doubt it but sometimes it works. How about I break down to tears now for I am really tired of working.

Remember the times when our stick thin PE teachers would say exercising is one of the best forms of relieving stress, I thought it is entirely true but I hate the body stench after that. Maybe I should go running or jogging later. Or maybe sneak into the pool with normal clothes.

Oh when we first heard that eating chocolates makes one happier, we found ourselves indulging in milk chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate ice cream, mud pie etc every time we feel a little upset. As for me, I stock up on chocolates before, during and after my period. That makes it a weekly affair.

We all feel jaded from time to time but life is this way. We have to deal/face/live with it. I choose to run away from it for the time being until I find a meaningless reason to continue with what is installed for me. There comes a short break, a tissue paper soaked with watery polka dots, ideas of a short jog after work and a basket of chocolates from the supermarket.

A little something from James Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

" A retreat, my dear boys, signifies a withdrawal for awhile from the cares of our life, the cares of this workaday world, in order to examine the state of our conscience, to reflect on the mysteries of holy religion and to understand better why we are here in this world."

"One thing alone is needed, the salvation of one's soul. What doth it profit a man to gain in this wretched world if he suffer the loss of his immortal soul? Believe me there is nothing in this wretched world that can make up for such a loss."
